Usage data

When you visit our websites, we temporarily store so-called usage data on the basis of Article 6 paragraph 1 letter f of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). We use the usage data for statistical purposes in order to improve the quality of our websites and for security purposes. We also use this information to enable you to access our website, to monitor and administer our systems, and to improve the design of our websites. These purposes pursued by us also represent the legitimate interest within the meaning of Article 6 paragraph 1 letter f GDPR.

The data set consists of:

  • the page from which the file was requested
  • the name of the file
  • the date and time of the query
  • the amount of data transferred
  • the access status (file transferred, file not found)
  • the description of the type of web browser used
  • the IP address of the requesting computer, shortened by the last three digits.


Cookies

We use cookies on our websites. Cookies are small text files that can be stored and read on your end device. A distinction is made between session cookies, which are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and permanent cookies, which are stored beyond the individual session. We have a legitimate interest in being in contact with the users of the website and in answering any questions you may have or sending you information. Your data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the above-mentioned purposes. As a rule, we delete your request two weeks after final answering of your request.

Use of service providers

Epigenomics engages third parties to provide services and process your data (so-called order processing). The service providers process the data exclusively as instructed by Epigenomics and are obliged to comply with the applicable data protection regulations. All processors have been carefully selected and will only have access to your data to the extent and for the period necessary to perform the services.

Duration of data storage

We only store your data for as long as it is necessary for the provision of our services and there are no retention periods to prevent deletion.

Your rights as a user

As a user, you have the right to request information as to which data about you is stored by us and for what purpose it is stored. In addition, you can correct incorrect data or have such data deleted whose storage is inadmissible or no longer necessary. You have the right to data portability under Article 20 GDPR. In addition, you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority about the data processing taking place. If you have given us your consent, you can revoke it at any time with effect for the future.

Information on your right of objection

You have the right, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you pursuant to Article 21 of the GDPR, in particular on the basis of Article 6 (1) (e) or (f) of the GDPR. We will stop processing your personal data unless we can prove compelling reasons for processing worthy of protection which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
